ABOUT US
True Companion Animal Rescue (TCAR) is a non profit, 501c3 organization. It was founded in March 2013. It started as a small effort to help find homes for animals that were lost or for owners who could no longer care for their pets. In its first year as an organization, TCAR was able to place 7 dogs and 18 cats into loving homes.
TCAR runs solely on donations, volunteers, and foster homes. The organization serves Pittsburgh and surrounding communities. It is a no kill rescue and will house dogs and cats until they find homes.
TCAR's mission is to temporarily provide love, shelter, food, and veterinary care to stray, abandoned, and surrendered dogs and cats in our area while they wait for a permanent home. True Companion believes that every animal deserves a chance at a good life and would love to one day close its doors because every animal has a loving home.

Dog of the week
My name is Rocky! I was found abandoned outside of a house that caught on fire. I was picked up by Animal Control and then transferred to True Companion. I am about 2-3 years old, very friendly with all people. I am smart and quickly learning how to be an inside pup!
Cat of the week
My name is Molly. I am a brown tabby cat with medium hair. I was found wandering outside with no home. I am about 3 years old, I like cats and dogs although it takes me a little bit of time getting used to them! I am spayed and up to date on my vaccines.
